Joël Robuchon, the French chef and restaurateur, known as ‘Chef of the Century’, held the most Michelin stars ever awarded and was a humble perfectionist with a strong work ethic.
A true visionary, he revolutionised the fine-dining world, rebelling against the entrenched rules of French cooking. He instead focused on simplicity utilising the highest quality ingredients, elevating hearty fare to a new level, always producing wonderful dishes consistently.
With his passing, members of his team are delighted to continue his legacy by introducing two new sites to London: Le Comptoir and Le Deli. “The older I get, the more I realise the truth: the simpler the food, the more exceptional it can be,” he reflected.
Le Comptoir is an evolved, new restaurant, which is elegant, chic and vibrant in design. Executive Chef Jeremy Page, who worked with Joël Robuchon for over a decade, will keep the theatre of cuisine, which Joël Robuchon loved so much, whilst reviving his simple, light, small plates concept from the original L’Atelier. The menu will include vegetarian and gluten free elements.
A casual, yet sophisticated, all day dining deli serving breakfast, lunch, supper and snacks. Le Deli will also offer a carefully selected range of wines, teas, cheeses, pastries and breads all handmade with quality ingredients. Many of the products in the deli are those which Joël Robuchon chose and championed.
